How it works at McCormick Place
Most McCormick Place shows let exhibitors bring in their own furniture vendor as an exhibitor appointed contractor (EAC). The process is simple, but the deadline matters:
- Contact us early. Tell us your show, booth number and move-in date, ideally before your exhibitor service kit’s EAC deadline.
- Your company submits the EAC request to show management by the deadline. Many shows only accept it from the exhibitor.
- We provide the insurance certificate the show requires and keep our McCormick Place registration current.
- We deliver and install on your move-in assignment and pick up after the show closes.
Our McCormick Place EAC guide explains each step. For booth layout ideas, see trade show furniture tips for McCormick Place.
Beyond the booth: show-week events
A lot of trade show business happens off the floor. Hospitality suites, customer dinners, sponsor receptions and partner meetings at nearby hotels don’t go through the show’s EAC process, so they can be booked closer to the date. We furnish those rooms with the same lounge seating, LED bars and branded pieces you’d use in the booth.

Trade Show Furniture Rental FAQ
Can you deliver trade show furniture to McCormick Place?
Yes. We deliver, install and pick up booth furniture at McCormick Place. Most shows let exhibitors bring in an outside furniture vendor as an exhibitor appointed contractor (EAC), which your company requests by the show’s deadline. We provide the insurance certificate the show requires.
When should we order trade show furniture for a Chicago show?
Before your show’s EAC deadline, which is often several weeks before move-in. For branded counters and bars, allow extra time for artwork approval and vinyl production. Hotel hospitality suites and off-site events don’t go through the EAC process and can be booked closer to the date.
Can booth furniture be branded with our logo?
Yes. Our Blanc registration counters and most of our event bars take vinyl logo graphics, and many of our scenic pieces can carry sponsor graphics. Send vector artwork when you order.
Do you rent furniture for trade shows outside McCormick Place?
Yes. We also furnish booths and events at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, the Schaumburg Convention Center, Navy Pier and downtown and O’Hare-area hotels.
Is Chicago’s rental tax charged on trade show furniture?
Rentals used inside Chicago, including at McCormick Place, are subject to the city’s 15% Personal Property Lease Transaction Tax as of 2026. Furniture used in suburbs like Rosemont and Schaumburg generally isn’t subject to the Chicago tax.
What information do you need for a trade show furniture quote?
Your show name, booth number and size, target move-in date, and the look you want. A floor plan or rendering helps, and so does any logo artwork for branded pieces.
