The Ashton Black Bar Stool is a low-profile bar stool built on a slim square-tube frame, with a flat upholstered seat and a low square back rail that gives something to lean against without closing off the sightline behind it. A footrest bar runs across the base. The whole stool reads as line rather than mass, which is why it settles into a room instead of crowding it.
The silver frame and black seat make this the most neutral stool in the Ashton line. Black reads cleanly against almost anything, which is why it is the default choice when the bar itself is the feature and the seating is meant to recede: a lit bar, a mirrored bar, or a branded counter that should hold the eye on its own.
The seat sits at 30 inches, standard bar height, so the Ashton pulls up to any of our 42-inch bars and bar tables: the Nexus bar tables, the Bali communal bar tables, and the full bar program from the LED and acrylic bars through to the Blanc registration counters.
We deliver, set, and strike throughout Chicago and the suburbs, including City Winery, the Newberry Library, downtown hotels, and corporate campuses across Chicagoland.

Frame colour only. This stool has a silver frame; the Ashton Gold Black is the same design with a gold frame. Both carry the same black upholstered seat.
Both sit at a 30-inch seat height, so either works at a 42-inch bar. The Ashton is the lower-profile of the two at 34 inches overall against the Payton at 40.5, and it is narrower at 17 inches against 19.5, so it takes less room along the bar and blocks less of the room behind it.
Yes. The seat is a flat upholstered cushion set into the frame, which is what keeps the stool comfortable through a long reception without adding bulk to the silhouette.
Yes. A 30-inch seat under a 42-inch bar is the standard pairing and leaves comfortable legroom underneath. Every bar and bar table we rent stands at 42 inches.
